What Should I Write About Next?

Hello Reader!

I have a question for you this week.

I've been writing about health, fitness, and aging for a long time, and while you know I have plenty of opinions about all three, I'd love to know what you're curious about. So instead of my usual article, I'm turning things over to you.

Which of these topics would you most like me to explore?

  1. Can you actually change your body shape after 50? What's realistic, and what isn't?
  2. How much exercise is enough? At what point do the benefits start diminishing?
  3. Is your metabolism really slowing down? What's happening as we age, and what can we do about it?
  4. Are you eating enough to stay strong? Why eating less isn't always the answer.
  5. What are the smallest changes that make the biggest difference to your health? The surprisingly useful things that don't require overhauling your life.

Don't see anything that interests you? Hit reply and tell me what you'd rather read about. Be as detailed as you want.

I'll use your answers to help choose topics for upcoming newsletters. Thanks for helping me out!

Hello Reader! I've always been fascinated by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Over the years, I've tried acupuncture, herbal concoctions, and a variety of other practices I can no longer remember. I kept wanting to believe it held the key to me finally having heaps of energy. Unfortunately, my body never seemed particularly impressed. Eventually I developed my own highly unscientific theory: maybe TCM just didn't sync with my very not-Asian ancestry. According to my DNA report, no one in...

Hello Reader! Use it or lose it. It’s an annoyingly common phrase that isn’t exactly wrong, at least where physical conditioning is concerned—stop exercising and eventually your fitness will decline. But it’s not completely accurate, either. Newer research suggests something more complicated—and more encouraging. When people stop exercising, some of the changes they've built can stick around longer than you might expect. And those things may not all be measurable with a blood-pressure cuff or...

Hello Reader! I’ve been watching an embarrassing number of fitness videos on YouTube lately. Trust me—I don’t need workout ideas. I literally design workouts for a living. I’ve been a health and fitness coach for more than 20 years and I know how resistance training works. I know the importance of protein, recovery, consistency, progressive challenge—all of it. And yet I keep scrolling through YouTube because I keep hoping someone will tell me I'm doing something wrong. That sounds strange,...
