Look around: coffee shops, offices, Zoom calls—even you right now. Heads down. Shoulders rounded. The dreaded “tech neck.” This posture is wiring our spines for pain. And if vanity speaks louder? Let’s just say it makes us look less vibrant and confident.

Even as a coach, I’m not immune to screen-time slouch. The problem is, “just sitting up straighter” doesn’t cut it. Our bodies need retraining. And here’s what excites me: one exercise—used by elite movement specialists—can reverse years of rounding and give you back your tall, confident posture.

Start with a broomstick, not a barbell. Practice the snatch squat press:

  • Place the broomstick across your shoulders.
  • Lower into a squat (hips at knee-level or lower). If that’s tough, prop your heels with a rolled towel.
  • From the squat, press the broomstick overhead, arms fully extended.
  • Hold, then lower back down. Aim for 8–12 reps.
